This week in Math, we started Data Management. We had a lengthy discussion about bias and how biased survey results could render a poll invalid. The class seemed to grasp the concept of bias well and we came up with several examples of how surveys could be biased.
Now, I'm inspired to take a slight detour in our media studies to look at bias in the news media. Please continue the dialogue about bias at home. You may want to look at newspapers or TV news and ask questions such as, "How might this news story be covered in a different country?"

P.S. The students created double broken line graphs today and positively loved it. Great to see such enthusiasm in the area of Math.
