Hello,
This is a short week, so let's have a short post. We made an attempt to get agendas back in action today. Homework is listed at the bottom of this post, in case agenda writing was a little rusty. Please remember to bring in a non-perishable canned or boxed good for our food drive. Also, please send in empty (cardboard) toilet paper rolls for Art.
Due to two short weeks filled with rehearsals for the Spring Concert (on May 5th at SATEC), please refer to last week's post from This Week in Room 108 to see what we continue to work on.
Homework:
1. Both grades have a math sheet they are responsible to complete. Way to go Kamal and Arsal for getting all your math done in class today. These boys went on to complete their math homework in class and then asked for additional Reading work to take home. I salute your focus and drive!
2. Both grades were given short spelling word lists this week. Please make sure your child completes an activity in his/her Home Word Book to prepare for Friday's quiz. Grade 2 words were pulled from Science vocabulary from the past couple of weeks. I was told these words were too easy. Those students were encouraged to try out the Grade 3 words for extra challenge.
3. Students are asked to write 2-3 journal entries this week in their Writing Journal. Cheers to Theron for writing full-page journal entries (in cursive nonetheless). You've inspired your classmates to push themselves harder and to write about things that bring them joy. Encourage them to do a little more each week. I'm seeing an improvement in many student's writing. Home support helps a great deal.
