Spring Babies
Yesterday we took the Waterfront Trail back from Port Hope. Skirting through Newcastle, we noticed some Canada Geese with their goslings. Does it get any sweeter than this?
Searching for food.
Just when we thought it couldn't get any more enchanting, two white swans arrived. The protective mother goose did not like the swans, however, and began hissing.
Off they swam. What a magical moment.
Due the many activities our school was engaged in last week, this week will be a continuation of what we started last week (please see last week's post). The only thing that will be new is our exploration of fractions using Tangrams.
Homework: 1. Fractions around the home assignment (due Friday).
2. Complete your first or second draft of horror story in Home Writing Journal (bring in rough draft Thursday for peer/self editing and bring good copy with you next Monday)
3. Students will choose a topic for Social Studies project (details to follow in class).
* In June, our class will take part in a "culture share" assignment. Each student will share a part of his or her cultural background with the class. Students may opt to explore a different culture that fascinates him or her. Details and schedule forthcoming.
