Tomorrow, Clairlea students are asked to come in dressed in Canadian colours. I'm going to suggest you wear anything remotely Canadian e.g. red and white, hockey clothes, souvenir t-shirts from Canadian cities, beaver hats - be creative. Our class is fiercely competitive and if we win enough Spirit Days, we'll get a pizza party. Party on! There's a cute video at the bottom to get you in the spirit.
The news stories children are bringing in are terrific. We're learning about world issues, geography, and some interesting vocabulary. We may continue covering the news in weeks to come with a small group each presenting on Fridays. 
Students are also learning a lot about positive and negative numbers as they learn about temperature. One minute they're in Grade 2 or 3 learning about temperature, the next thing you know, they're in Grade 7 adding integers.
