Sorry for the delay getting the kids out today. We were handing back work and our "getting dressed to go home" time suddenly went from ten minutes to five. I'll aim to give the class a good ten minutes to get their winter woolies on from now on. There's always a missing glove or hat.
Please remember to leave an extra pair of dry socks in your child's backpack. We keep an ugly old pair of Easter bunny socks in my son's bag and it's amazing how many days he actually comes home wearing them.
Please get those pizza lunch forms in by Thursday. Also, our crochet club has been switched from Thursday at lunch to Friday this week as I have a meeting this Thursday regarding our Open Window French Day at Clairlea next month. Next week, the crochet club will revert to Day 1 - unless there's another meeting I must attend. Those students who expressed interest in learning to crochet and returned the parent permission slip should bring their hook if possible and prepare to eat at school on Friday. We'll eat in our classroom. We can listen to music and have fun.
Lastly, here's a clip from a recent Groundhog Day in Wiarton. The Grade 2s have been learning about this quaint tradition as part of our Social Studies look at Celebrations and Traditions. Note that Willie predicted an early spring, so there's hope that we'll have a short winter this year.
