As I'm sure you've heard by now, our class pet Rosie died in class this afternoon. It was extremely upsetting for everyone, myself included, but we all agreed that nobody was to blame. I felt so sad seeing the children as upset as they were and I just wanted to send a little message of warm thoughts and love their way. As shocking and sad as it was, I was so proud to see the boys and girls supporting each other in their grief. They are kind, caring children and these traits all come from home.
Rosie was just a small gerbil, but she meant so much to the kids. We will miss her, but we'll remember the happiness she brought us.
