This week came and went by in a blur, but we packed in a lot. Our student teacher Katie Conti has returned for three weeks. She is a wonderful teacher and the children bonded with her quickly.

Below: Word study. Miss Conti had a terrific synonym activity for the class. Each student had a word taped to his or her back. They had to ask questions to figure out what word they are. After that, they had to try to find their synonym.

Below: Grade 2s learned about making scientific predictions today while learning about oil spills. The class predicted that a water ring would evaporate faster than oil.

Lastly, Mrs. Richardson (our acting VP) will be leaving Clairlea on Monday. We welcome back Mr. Frenette. A couple of weeks ago, Ellie made a beautiful banner for our class that features everyone in our class. She made it at home as a gift and it now hangs proudly over our door. I've had many compliments about it from staff members. I asked Ellie if she could reproduce the banner as a going away gift for Mrs. Richardson. Below, you'll see her wonderful work. Mrs. Richardson told me after school that she's going to have it framed. Well done, Ellie! Thanks to all the boys and girls who also made beautiful cards for Mrs. Richardson. What a great class.
